This sketch is my mind map thoughts illustration of what it’s like for some people when they are ‘in pain’.
Right down at the bottom in a sort of sinking into the mire black, just with head, shoulders and hands showing, the person in pain. The person is on their own, lost in thought, eyes cast down ruminating, dwelling on events. Their pain has literally burned through and broken their skull. Their head is split apart, nothing natural about it. It’s like the split in the bark of an infested diseased, dying, Ash tree.
How do you heal that wound, it’s impossible to imagine someone surviving with that damage?
They are under and inside a thick solid structure, separated from the rest of the world. They don’t even know it’s there, but it’s acting like a sieve. This solid thick barrier has just three small holes. That’s all they have to get information for their senses. Below is the mire they are sinking into and around is the structure and they are trapped.
Far away up and behind are people talking and a whole other world. The person in pain doesn’t know that the other people are there. They can’t see or hear them. They are too far away, apart and in a completely different space.
These two people are happily engaged in talking with each other. It looks as if they find it exciting and interesting to chat, there is an energy there.
But in their inside world they are worried about the person in pain. The people who are in the world in their gut and heart are discussing how they can help.
But the person in pain doesn’t know.
Maybe the head brain of the people chatting doesn’t know either. One person is wearing a stethoscope & green hat so could be medical. The other is perched on high heels almost dancing. Plus what is that tickling tongue I drew doing? There is evidently a close relationship between these two.
On one hand the woman holds the Book of Know, she is balancing it. She is carefully holding it to one side and making sure she keeps it. But the pages have opened and some of the Know is coming out. She is still holding the Know, but between them as these two people exchange, they both gain more Know, but droplets are escaping. In fact there is a spreading colour starting to show from the book and droplets and the gut and heart brains.
That looks like some energy, some creative power.
There are stars as well, just two. One is far away and one is close.
Maybe the person in pain worries about the Blackstar of cancer. It can be when people have pain that they worry its more sinister and they could die.
The droplets of Know are dripping down and bouncing off the solid structure around the person in pain. Like rain drops. Most of them are bouncing off. A few have slipped through the holes in the structure, but it looks as if they have passed by un-noticed.
Except for one.
There is one on target to land in the brain and we don’t know what that tiny droplet of Know will do.
For me, this small drop of Know represents hope.
It symbolically implies that somehow, something allowed or found its way through this thick structure.
Just imagine if this was a little droplet of magic.
Something with the power to begin to initiate change and mending.
For some people in pain beliefs about never being able to escape are so strong that nothing about hope can get through. In fact they may not hear, quite genuinely not hear things that are being said.
Their ear brain might just stop them from hearing.
But then something slips through.
